When working with the IfcOpenShell python wrapper, or with pythonOCC, it is strongly recommended to use an IDE that suggests command completion, like PyCharm or VisualStudio2017.

How to use VS2017 as Python Editor: Install Visual Studio 2017, open the Visual Studio Installer, install all updates, then install the workload "Python development".
