Coasting causes unrealistic increase in print time and filament usage. #19874

Cura Version

5.9.0 Beta

Operating System

Windows 10

Printer

Ender 3v2 Klipper

Reproduction steps

Enable/disable coasting

Actual results

Enabling coasting causes a 10x increase in print time and almost triples filament usage. with coasting without coasting

Expected results

Print time and filament usage increases by a realistic amount, say 30-45 minutes and maybe 10-15g.

Hey @tripartist1 I suspect you're using the beta 1 release. We had an issue causing a Z0.0 move at each layer when the coasting was enabled and therefore did a fix and made a beta 2 release. On that version the print time and material usage is within expected range. No coasting image Coasting enabled image

Can you check to see if you're problem still persists in the 5.9 beta 2? If so, make a project file that showcases the issue and share it with the report. There is now an option under help that creates the support package with the logs as a 3mf image
