Game crashes after plugging two microphones #365

Please, do not create duplicate issues

Actual behaviour

Game crashes if either a) I choose a song and start singing, after few seconds UltraStar just crashes b) When I select other soundcard in recording settings.

Expected behaviour

Game shouldn't crash

Steps to reproduce

I'll skip this one

Details

I did few things to test if problem will be solved: -Unplugging second microphone -Removing second microphone from config.ini -Removing everything from [Record] section in config.in -Turning on debug option -Reinstalling game -Removing every song Nothing worked Few times it also crashes in menu while switching options, but most of the time it crashes during song or in recording settings. Funny thing I noticed, I don't have this error in UltraStar Deluxe WorldParty, but I don't like this version, I can't change my color or avatar, however right now it's the only way I can play UltraStar. What does it look like when it crashes? Does USDX vanish without a word or is there a dialog window with more information about the crash?

crash on no audio when changing anything related to windows audio devices settings is known and requires getting rid of basslib to fix this. The most recent SDL versions almost support all what we need for audio input and output (including events and so on), but according to SDL devs, the API is not yet considered stable, so I'd rather prefer to wait some more months before switching from bass to SDL for audio input device handling.

Your problem (a) sounds like you are using some device that switches off its speaker or changes hardware more as soon as its integrated microphone starts recording. This is for example common behaviour when using bluetooth devices. Is that the case for your problem?

also, please check that in windows audio recording settings -> advanced something like 44100Hz or 48000Hz is selected.
