Game is literally a black screen after the new patch

Yeah I don't know what else to say, I updated the game and now I can't launch it no matter what I do, verifying integrity, changing mods, looking in game files, changing options.ini, nothing works, I just can't play TBOI now

Update: the black screen is not permanent, the game just freezes for a very long time on every loading screen, and crashes if I try to alt tab to something else while it loads or click the screen

And is still permanent half the time lol

If you disable all of your mods, does it help the issue? Try restarting it a couple of times afterwards to see if it gets better. Mod loading does occur on startup so it could easily be related to that.
