Sometimes they damage you, sometimes they merely knock you back. imo it should be either always one way or another.

Some items give you immunity to the damage, like Bob's Curse.

I think he was just too far away for the damage to occur. I do agree it's a little odd, though, the knockback is certainly new and might be a side effect of changes made elsewhere.

I thought about that new knockback too. Is that intended?
