Message prefixes // accessibility #2450

Describe the bug Hello, There is a nondecable prefix problem going on since a while. First I want to show how it was and how it changed.

Beginning of the unigram, message prefixes were as follows: Groups: Person 1. this is my first message this is my second message hello person 1 I am an blind unigram user and this is my first message, I am the sender. hello person 1 I am an blind unigram user and this is my second message, I am the sender. ///as you see there was no prefix for the unigram user.

Then it changed to: Groups/private all prefixed: person 1. This is my first message person 1. This is my second message unigram user (sender view). this is my first message unigram user (sender view). this is my second message

Current prefixes are as follows: Groups: person 1. This is my first message person 1. This is my second message hello person 1 I am an blind unigram user and this is my first message, I am the sender. hello person 1 I am an blind unigram user and this is my second message, I am the sender. Private chat literaly no prefix!: this is my first message I gues my name is not important at all. this is my second message hello person 1 I am an blind unigram user and this is my first message, I am the sender. hello person 1 I am an blind unigram user and this is my second message, I am the sender.

So, current view is wrong, because:

I'm glad to share, current system unigram uses, never used, or using by any other instant messaging app which shows how wrong it is.

How it should be? There is two logical solution I am aware of 1: Telegram iOS Person 1, this is my first message Person 1, this is my second message Your message, hello person 1 I am an blind telegram iOS user and this is my first message, I am the sender. Your message, and this is my second message, I am the sender. SAME FOR BOTH GROUP AND PRIVATE! 2: Older telegram web (current one got wrecked), my personal preference, but less logical I agree that. Person 1. this is my first message this is my second message Your username, hello person 1 I am an blind telegram web user and this is my first message, I am the sender. and this is my second message, I am the sender. SAME FOR BOTH GROUP AND PRIVATE! Please ignore the punctuation, the goal of this message is showing the prefixes Thanks for your time and reading this. To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior: Read messages with narrator or any screen reader Expected behavior A clear and concise description of what you expected to happen.

I like the way it used to work better too. That is, it would note the sender of the first message they sent but not subsequent ones if consecutive. The last example from the original poster is what I'm thinking of.

I do miss knowing who sent messages in private personal chats direct messages honestly. Reviewing messages weeks or months later I genuinely won't just remember who sent what.

This is a large problem for me as well. To extend this further, if this is in a private chat with a string of voice messages back and fourth, there is no way to tell who sent what voice message until one plays them.

What do you think about that?

What do you think about that?

I think that writing this under every accessibility bug doesn't get it fixed

@beqabeqa473 sorry for the reply which may seem a bit unpolite, I've just realized that you're the one who opened the pr about accessibility fixes. Does this mean that you are willing to work on this or you need some information to proceed?

I would work on it, yes.
