Can you provide a sample maybe? Since I do not have any discs containing MGVC coded streams, I cannot tell what is going on there.
Thank you for your quick response, but as far as I know, it seems it's impossible to extract a sample which contains MGVC, as MGVC data are stored in bin file and for now only Panasonic Player could decode them. If you don't mind, I could provide the whole ISO file via GoogleDrive.
Sorry for not responding in quite a while. My life had me packed pretty hard.
I assume the ISO is nothing that is freely available?
Sorry for replying lately. Yeah, I guess there is no free and legal MGVC stuff available.
I have managed to get hold of a blu-ray disc containing MGVC finally. Scan is running through using the disc, but fails/stops after around 1.7GB if I rip the disc to ISO and try to scan the ISO image. Not sure what is causing that behaviour.
Looking at the .bin files, they contain a lot of unparsed garbage data (possibly the MGVC stream), along with streams that can be played by normal players.
But unfortunately, as there are no MGVC specs available at all, and discs using this are very rare, this issue will get the lowest possible priority for me. I don't think there will be a fix anytime soon, unless someone is willing to submit a patch.
I don't think you should worry about adding support for this. No one uses MGVC. I doubt even Panasonic uses it now...
Hi,
When I used BDinfo 0.7.4 beta to scan a BDISO which contains MGVC, the scan only took no more than 5 seconds and then I got a report like this:
