Spigot Line Connection #7

Open SuzyQuant opened 10 months ago

SuzyQuant commented 10 months ago

Background

The objective is to establish a resilient water access point that can withstand harsh winter conditions. This installation is crucial for maintaining an uninterrupted water supply to the main house's kitchen area throughout the year. The spigot will be strategically placed outside, near the basement window, ensuring ease of access and minimal disruption to the surrounding infrastructure.

Tasks

• Conduct a preliminary site assessment to determine the precise excavation location and depth required to access the main water valve.

• Design a winter-proof spigot system that aligns with the existing plumbing architecture and environmental conditions.

• Obtain necessary permits and approvals for outdoor plumbing work.

• Excavate the area to the appropriate depth to expose the water line connected to the internal main water valve.

• Install the new spigot line, ensuring that it is closer to the basement window than to the dance studio door, as specified.

• Perform thorough testing to validate the functionality and resilience of the spigot under winter conditions.

• Restore the excavation site to its original state, ensuring that the integrity of the landscape is maintained.

Acceptance Criteria

• The spigot must be fully operational and demonstrate no leakage or vulnerability to freezing temperatures.

• The installation must comply with all relevant building codes and regulations.

• The spigot's location must adhere to the specified proximity to the basement window and dance studio door.

• All work should be completed with minimal impact on the surrounding area, and the site should be left clean and orderly.
