Objective:
To create a detailed and organized plan for distributing the new 42 circuit slots in the upgraded electrical panel box, ensuring efficient power distribution while adhering to safety standards. Open ReadMe for visuals.

Steps Involved:

  1. Current Circuit Inventory:

    • Document the existing circuits in the current panel, including their purpose and load requirements.
    • Identify any circuits that can be consolidated or eliminated to free up space for new slots.
  2. Load Calculation:

    • Calculate the total load for each circuit to determine the appropriate amperage and ensure that the new panel can handle the overall demand.
    • Consider future expansion needs, particularly for the rechargeable car driveway and yurt.
  3. Circuit Allocation:

    - Right Side of the Panel:
     - Upper Right:
       - Allocate circuits for the attic (e.g., lighting and outlets).
     - Lower Right:
       - Assign circuits for the front of the house, including outdoor lighting and garden outlets.
    - Left Side of the Panel:
     - Lower Left:
       - Designate circuits for the back side of the house (e.g., kitchen, living room, and outdoor outlets).
       - Designate a single circuit for the Dryer. _See Item 6_.
     - Upper Left:
       - Allocate circuits specifically for the car charging area and the yurt on the hill, ensuring adequate power supply for both.
       - Include multiple circuits for servers intended for a lab setup.
  4. Special Considerations:

    • Ensure the Dryer circuit (refer to Issue https://github.com/United-Home/2405-45th-St/issues/21) is completely separated from other circuits, specifically the deck lights and the electric socket below the TV in Apartment B's bedroom.
    • Plan for GFCI outlets in areas with water exposure, such as kitchens and outdoor spaces.
  5. Visual Representation:

    • Create a schematic diagram of the proposed circuit distribution, clearly labeling each circuit and its designated area of use.
    • Include notes on load calculations and any special requirements for each circuit.
  6. Review and Approval:

    • Present the circuit slot division plan to stakeholders for feedback and approval.
    • Make necessary adjustments based on input to ensure all needs are met and safety standards are maintained.
  7. Documentation:

    • Compile all findings, calculations, and the final circuit distribution plan into a formal document.
    • Ensure that the plan is easily accessible for reference during the installation phase.
