Objective:

Ensure that all electrical installations meet safety standards and comply with local and national electrical codes to prevent hazards and ensure reliable operation. Open ReadMe for visuals.

Subtasks:

  1. Review of Applicable Codes and Standards

    • Research and gather relevant local, state, and national electrical codes, including:
      • National Electrical Code (NEC) guidelines
      • Local building codes specific to West Virginia
      • Safety standards for residential electrical systems
    • Identify specific regulations related to the installation of 20 Amp outlets and GFCI outlets.
  2. Pre-Installation Safety Assessment

    • Conduct a safety assessment of the work environment before starting installation:
      • Ensure that all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
      • Verify that personal protective equipment (PPE) is available, including gloves and safety goggles.
      • Confirm that the workspace is clear of hazards and distractions.
  3. Installation Safety Protocols

    • Establish safety protocols to follow during the installation process:
      • Always turn off power at the circuit breaker before starting work.
      • Use a voltage tester to confirm that circuits are de-energized.
      • Maintain a safe distance from live circuits and components.
  4. Post-Installation Compliance Checks

    • After installation, perform a thorough inspection of all new outlets:
      • Check that all outlets are securely mounted and free from any physical damage.
