Basement Optimization #6

Open SuzyQuant opened 1 week ago

SuzyQuant commented 1 week ago

We are currently operating our computer systems and networks in the basement, which requires immediate attention for maintenance and optimization. The current environment poses challenges that could impact the performance and longevity of our equipment.

Key Tasks:

  1. Dusting and Cleaning:

    • Conduct a thorough cleaning of the basement area to remove dust and debris.
    • Establish a regular cleaning schedule to maintain cleanliness.
  2. System Monitoring:

    • Ensure all computer systems and network equipment are operational.
    • Implement monitoring solutions to quickly identify and address any downtime.
  3. Dust-Proofing:

    • Research and propose solutions for creating a dust-proof area around the computer systems.
    • Consider options such as air filtration systems, sealed enclosures, or relocating equipment to a less dusty environment.

Goals:

SuzyQuant commented 1 week ago

By the end of my 4-hour shift, I will thoroughly vacuum the computers and network area, ensuring that all dust is removed from all the KVMS, Macs, and laptops. I will also check each setup to confirm they are running smoothly and well-ventilated, as well as the dehumidifier is switched on, aiming for at least 90% operational efficiency by the end of my shift.

I cleaned up the basement, specifically the computer lab area, and ensured each computer and all KVMs were running.
