I don't think we currently have resources to add support for a new file format, given that we're still just trying to get the core USD and USDZ support to a stable release.
Respecting max texture size should be opened as a separate issue.
Reflection maps are a render engine specific feature, is that something that Apple supports? If so, how do they express it in USDZ?
Im no longer working on AR so I guess it doesnt matter
Do you have any intention of allowing us to export to the "reality format" being able to create USDZ files from inside unity rather then using the reality editor would be real boon
[ ] What is a USDZ file? A USDZ file is a web-based 3D/AR file format which is viewable in AR Quick Look. Structurally the file is a zero-compression, unencrypted zip archive. You can view a USDZ file directly in the Safari Browser on all iOS devices installed with iOS 12+. USDZ files can be shared via iMessage, email, notes etc.

[ ] What is a Reality file?
[ ] In iOS 13+ Beta Apple has added support for a new .reality file format. This file format can now be uploaded to USDZSHARE and work similar to a USDZ file but has more functionality. Reality files support audio, multiple scenes, multiple character animation and behaviours that perform interactivity with gestures like tap & proximity triggers. You can view a Reality file directly in the Safari Browser on all iOS devices installed with iOS 13+. Reality files can also be shared via iMessage, email, notes etc.

Also when I try to export as USDZ it doesnt seem like the textures are automatically getting resized to whatever max size unity is using, for example all my maps are set to 2024 even though I set the max size to 512
Also can we have a way of giving the usdz a reflection map for the USDZ export
