This might be a Wine bug though, but it makes the whole experience with Unity worse. This also accurs when windows are not yet loaded.

It would be much better if a grey colour would be shown while loading the contents.

Note your specs. I experience the same. But I doubt this is Unity specific. Operating system - Ubuntu Desktop 14.04 (64bit) Graphics card - NVIDIA Geforce 9600GT NVIDIA binary driver 337.25

My was system too broken to be noted. I'm reinstalling my system to a clean 64 bit Lubuntu right now, then I can note it normally.

However, I don't have a NVidia, I have AMD. And I haven't seen this issue in any other Wine programs I think.
