Inovelli LZW31-SN #18

This new switch works without a Neutral wire as long as the lamp has a minimum load of 25 Watt. I successfully installed the switch, in as much as that it turns the light on and off, but I have been unable to include it in my ISY Zwave network. I followed the procedure : (1) turn off power to switch . (2) Put hub in inclusion mode (3) turn power on to switch. I can see that the hub recognizes the switch but then it does not complete the inclusion.

Interestingly enough, it does end up paired to your z-wave network, and if you have another controller you can use it. I have a z-stick connected to Home Assistant, and it sees the LZW31-SN just fine while it never shows up on the ISY. My logs are very similar, here is a debug log of my excluding the switch (after a failed pairing) and attempting to include it again:

So I have an ISY hub that we just purchased and did an inclusion with it with the default 1.35 firmware. Seemed to include just fine and showed up in the network list. I'm able to control it and it sends updates to the hub when physically controlled.

For reference, that device uses the latest Z-Wave 500 SDK and supports Smart Start, S0, and S2 security which may have an impact on how the inclusion operates but we haven't seen inclusion issues with other hubs yet.

I very much appreciate your reply. Unfortunately, it does not work for me. Next thing I will try is to include the switch WITH neutral, and if that works, then transfer back to NO neutral switch.

I also strongly recommend to change your inclusion method. Other brands use 1 click or sometimes 3 clicks, but your 10 clicks complicate things unnecessarily.

I'm confused, maybe we are talking about different devices? The title says LZW31-SN but:

1. That device goes into inclusion / exclusion mode by 3x pressing the config button.

  1. Since the device uses Smart Start simply applying power to it does not put it into the traditional Z-Wave inclusion / exclusion mode.

Hope this helps!
