Data export #391

Closed P-gK closed 1 year ago

P-gK commented 1 year ago

Datas are available mostly daily on http://data.noise-planet.org/noisecapture/

1) Export stopped for the last time on 2023-09-18 04:51, 2 days ago. Is it possible to resume the daily export ?

2) France zip file is currently more than 530Mo. Is it possible to have a smaller zip file, by having 1 separate for Paris region (tracks-points-areas) ? [Or by computing separating zip files for older and recent tracks & points ; > 1 year old for example]

Hi,

Thanks the dump was broken, it should be back online today or tomorrow.

The current dump require more and more resources as the database grow. So we are looking for an alternative method to do that according to community preferences.

What is your purpose for using NoiseCapture data ?

P-gK commented 1 year ago

Thanks for resuming the dump.

We follow your datas in Paris area out of interest in the parisian sound environment. The main objective is to feed our local knowledge, to propose improvments to local planning policies.

Instead of downloading big zip files, we would prefer to access dedicated API.

Hi @P-gK Just in case, have you seen this page (https://noise-planet.org/noisecapture_exploit_data.html) where we explain the different ways to access the data. Maybe there is a way to do want you want without the .geojson files ?

Thanks a lot. Downloading raws is by far a better solution than downloading the giant country bundle zip file. Nevertheless... @nicolas-f - just in case - it looks like if the server was out:

just in case - it looks like if the server was out:

Yes we are facing custom denial of service attack on our server with crafted false measurements.

I hope to find a solution today
