minor fixes #7

Hi, I was looking for a simple but useful logging library and yours looked nice. So I've added few things which might be useful.

Thanks a lot for the new features and upgrades. It looks nice and allows the library to become even more useful to more users. I'll merge then tag and update the opam package.
