ENHANCEMENT: Support Philips NetTV media stick #1187

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Connect Philips TV with PTA01/00 WiFi MediaConnect WLAN USB Stick
2. Observe log in ps3mediaserver
3. Unknown media client is not identified

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Philips TV cannot get streams directly. Any file is shown as unsupported media.
According to the philips.conf the User-Agent has changed. I updated the files
to represent my setup.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Mac OS X 10.6.8 running 1.31 beta

If you are transcoding a media file, which engine are you using (mencoder,
avisynth/mencoder, tsmuxer?)

mencoder

If the media file is in error (or does not play flawlessly), what are the codec
informations of this file (you can use following program:
mediainfo.sourceforge.net) ?

ISO DVD rips, H264 mpeg4

I updated the default provided philips.conf to include the renderer
identification of the stick (PhilipsIntelSDK). File philips_nettv.conf is
attached.

I also added an image for viewing pleasure of a 8605. File philips_nettv.png
also attached.

Streaming now works fine for both the MP4 and the DVD ISOs. To get rid of
video/audio sync problems I had to disable remuxing of AC3 audio and DVD video.

Perhaps the Dev team is willing to add this to the sources.

Are you sure you uploaded the correct configuration file? I see no diffs with
the current "Philips.conf".

My fault. I attached the wrong copy. Now is attached the edited one.

I also found my idea to be overlapping with #1158 by Arnout and thankfully
incorporated his mkv-streaming suggestion.

Merging my two files would fix two issues in one.

I should reserach my git checkouts...
