I can constate that if you transcode the video the problem stops. I tried it
first
with a normal xvid and errors appeared every few seconds and the streaming was
at
about half megabyte, with a mkv and no error appeared, then i tried with a xvid
with
externa subtitles to make it transcode and no error appeared.
This night i'll test the same xvid that gave errors (like all other that don't
get
transcoded) and i'll create a subtitle file for it just with a "." in it to see
if it
makes psm to transcode all the movie.

As i said, i created a subtitle file for the xvid with just 1 phrase and no more
80710736 error messages appeared... for me i have a workround till playstation
updates the firmware.

Happens for me, iMac is connected 100mbit wired to Linksys WRT54GL running
Tomato
firmware, PS3 is connected 100mbit wired as well. UPNP is enabled. Streaming
DiVX/XViD works great, just pops up this message every 10-15 seconds.

I can confirm this issue as well. PMS on both Linux & OS X, PS3 wired, computers
wired & wireless so I don't think it makes a difference.
Have not tried subtitles fix yet.

Confirmed on my end as well. Macpro running OSX 10.5.8 hardwired to router. Two
PS3's
have issue streaming native MPEG4 files.

I used to get the issue all the time, I just learned to ignore it. Then I ran my
network completely wired and bought a gigabit wireless router with dual band N.
I
recommend either Airport Extreme Base Station or Linksys WRT610N. I hear the
Netgear
3700 works too but I have no personal experience.
From my point of view if you're using wireless b or g and 100 mbit ethernet
you're
going to get the issue on a Mac at least. I cant speak for windows or Linux

Same here on Windows7 and a Linksys WRT54G Router (uPnP ON)

Wow... I was dealing with this for a long time... totally annoyed. Switched
connections, installed twonky... etc..
FINALLY I found a workaround on another site... I am reposting here as I also
found this useful.
SONY: Please fix this bug.

(There's a few topics on this subject and I haven't seen the below workaround
posted. This is the most recent
thread, so I'll post this here)
Manually updating your trophies information in your PSN Profile after you've
played a game will get rid of
those damned 80710736 errors once and for all, eliminating the need for
transcoding as well as significantly
speeding up the time it takes to start your files playing.
Seriously, this was a revelation to me. Here's the blow-by-blow.
1. Go to the XMB and scroll right across to Friends
2. Scroll down to your avatar/user name and hit triangle
3. Select Profile
4. Watch your trophies load up.
5. Play your avis through PMS and enjoy fast, high-quality streaming with no
need for transcoding and no
network errors!
As far as I can tell, you only need to repeat this process after you've added
another trophy to your collection. I
can understand why no-one found this. Seriously - who uses that function?!
It's not a problem fixer, but it's a simple and effective workaround. Hope this
helps.

I just tried your workaround and unfortunately it had no effect in my case -
the errors
persist. Anyone else have any success with this?

This is what shows in PMS log when this occurs for me (mainly and always when i
try
to ff/rewind h264 content). I would guess devs have already seen this through
their
own research, but it hasn't been posted here so figured I would.

Is this the same issue as Issue 389?
I've been getting that a lot lately, and now its almost impossible to stream.
Setup:
PS3 connected wire to a switch, wich is connected to a Dynalink Dir-655 router.
PC with Win 64bit 7 Ultimate connected to same switch.
PS3media server running version 1.10.51 for Windows.
I even get this having the PS3 just idling in the XMB !

This one worked at least for audio files...
Under Transcoding Setting tab
Change Audio Files Engins from MPlayer Audio to FFmpeg Audio, and for S&G
changes Audio Web Streaming Engines from MPlayer Web to VideoLan

Hey guys, just to say that I made this problem go away entirely by forcing
transcoding on all files.
Just add the avi extension to 'force transcode for the following extensions'
within 'transcoding settings'. The moment I did this all my problems
disappeared. Running Macbook Pro 2011 on wireless (N-only)

1.Go to your network setting in setting top
2.Go to media server and disable it
3.Go to your internet connection in network setting
4.Choose custom
5.Choose what ever you using wireless cable or wireless
6.After you choose the ssid and u enter the password then you need to choose
everything auto except the dns change it the primany : 255.122.23.23
