Custom path not supported for iTunes & iPhoto

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Have manualy modified com.apple.iPhoto.plist path entry for the iPhoto
RootDirectory and iPhoto archive file to the for said directory : iPhoto
work flawlessly.
2. Have modified the location of the iTunes library via iTunes preferences
system.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected to see iTunes & iPhoto in the menu.
I see in the Traces :
[main] TRACE 23:02:01.268 iPhoto folder not found !?
[main] TRACE 23:02:01.308 iTunes folder not found !?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
