(Enhancement)
Streaming Blu-ray ISO files is becoming more and more of a necessity. It 
appears that Mencoder settings must be tweaked to make it work (by lowering 
the maximum bandwidth to match the link). There are other tweaks needed as 
well, but there doesn't seem to be any serious technical hurdle aside from 
potential saturation of the link.

Just a quick update:

Looks like mplayer does support some Blu-Ray .iso playback! It's done with the 
libbluray library, which can be found here: 
http://www.videolan.org/developers/libbluray.html

Another update:

MPlayer has announced (30 Jan, 2011) support for BluRay playback. A quote from 
the release notes (1.0RC4):  

'Support for unencrypted Blu-ray playback through libbluray. Use it through: 
mplayer br:////path/to/disc'

Shagrath, please consider implementing this, or at least changing this issue 
from 'WontFix' so that others might look at it.

PMS 1.50.0 was released with mencoder-SB18, which had libbluray r801 added 
(see: http://www.spirton.com/mplayer-mencoder-subjunk-build/).
