tsMuxeR subtitles #819

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start PMS
2. Transcoding Settings Tab
3. tsMuxeR
4. There's no option for subtititles

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I'd like to have a option to use subtitle. tsMuxer 1.10.6 version has the
subtitle support.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.10.5 and 1.20.409

If you are transcoding a media file, which engine are you using (mencoder,
avisynth/mencoder, tsmuxer?)
tsmuxer

If the media file is in error (or does not play flawlessly), what are the codec
informations of this file (you can use following program:
mediainfo.sourceforge.net) ?
no error, just a new option

Please provide any additional information below and PLEASE JOIN debug.log file
!!

This would be awesome! my fileserver is not fast enough to transcode video, so
i have to use tsMuxer for mkv.

My server is to slow to transcode 1080p too. And even if I transcode it on my
main pc the bandwidth exeeds 90mbit which my 100mbit lan can't handle.
At least transmuxer keeps the bitrate normal.

Ps should it still be impossible to ffwd or rewind with the new tsmuxer?

Manytimes answered, It is not possible to use embeded subtitles in TS
file=remuxed MKV file with tsMuxeR.
Embeded subtitle stream support is only for AVCHD/BluRay formats what means
limitation to physical media. These formats can't be streamed but played
directly from USB/DVD/BD-R only.
Only solution is transcoding. If generated bandwidth of transcoding is too
high, use bandwidth limits(powerful CPU required)

But this can be solution for "advanced" renderers/clients how to pass subtitles
to video without transcoding.
Code have to be modified due to transcoding bug as posted here:
