Consider supporting ios12 #43

Describe the feature request

0.0.7-beta.1 was the experimental version that supported ios12. Since 0.0.7 introduced metrics with newer language features, ios13 is required. We need to find if metrics can be implemented with older language features to bring ios12 support back.
