Linked nodes transfer speeds slow #347

Open percosys opened 2 years ago

percosys commented 2 years ago

Description

Linked nodes are slow to start and file transfer speeds from primary server (Unraid - 10gb nic) to and from linked node (Windows 10 - 10gb nic) never goes above 250Mbps. Additionally file transfers are so slow, the first 2 or 3 workers complete all jobs before the next file can be loaded or queued.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Linked nodes in Unmanic
  2. Set workers on primary server to 0 and remote workers to 12.
  3. Set linked queue to 10
  4. Load 20 10gb test videos into the queue and wait for remote worker to pick up.

Expected behavior: Remote worker to start quickly, file transfer to take advantage of 10gb nic, and pending queue to be filled.

Actual behaviour: Remote worker takes over 15 minutes to start. Windows reports peak network speed of 250Mbps even on a 10gb network. Pending queue on remote node never builds.

Reproduces how often: 99%

Versions

Primary server: Unraid docker - 0.2.3~b517463 Linked node: Windows 10 - 0.2.3~b517463

Installation Method Used

Unraid docker for primary, windows installer for remote node.

Additional Information

Transfer speeds directly from smb share on Unraid to Windows 10 sustains 10gb transfer speeds bi-directionally.

Why not just pull the file from the smb share then?
