Fire Ballistas should not shoot at Animals #958

Hello there,

Fire Ballistas have a strong attack but a really slow rate of fire. This is totally fine, but there is a problem with this:

Fire Ballistas will sometimes being stuck on shooting at Oxen (I guess Cows and Dogs as well). But as Oxen respawn relatively quickly, the fire ballista won't stop shooting at the ever respawning ox without dealing any real damage for the whole time. Human player can set their own targets, but the AI Fire Ballistas are broken if there is a single Ox tether nearby

Solution: Fire Ballistas shouldn't be shooting at oxen (I am no coder, but as it was possibles to let them shoot monks this may be possible as well?)

I totally agree.

This has been a problem for a very long time. Both harassingsiege fire balllista and siege fire ballista stuck at ox tethers why to much.

If fire ballista dont shoot on ox anymore, the ai will have a stronger attack (which is needed anyways). I would love to see this updated.

I'm not sure the fire Ballista is targeting the ox. I think they are shooting the ox tether. Besides, the AI's Fire Ballista can't hit an ox tether as reliable as other buildings which I see as a bug.
