ERROR: [youtube] UizLqHRJoGo: Unable to extract uploader id; please report this issue on https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp/issues?q= , filling out the appropriate issue template. Confirm you are on the latest version using yt-dlp -U version 0.10.13

cyberkeltic commented 1 year ago

I can verify that I am having the exact same problem. I made sure to update to the latest version using

user:~$ sudo yt-dlp -U

which output this:

Latest version: 2023.01.06, Current version: 2022.11.11 ERROR: You installed yt-dlp with a package manager or setup.py; Use that to update

So then I deleted the version I got from the Linux Mint Software manager. I tried to get from Snap store then deleted that and reinstalled from the instructions I got from here but nothing changed. I basically cannot download any videos anymore. I have Python 3 and setuptools and installed the python package installer. Still having problems

I tried to download a playlist and used

--no-abort-on-error

but ALL the videos said

Unable to extract uploader id; please report this issue on https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp/issues?q= , filling out the appropriate issue template. Confirm you are on the latest version using yt-dlp -U

I'm certain that the youtube link is correct. I checked

I am having this exact same issue using the flatpak version. Just for info.

I was have the same error i reinstall video downloader few times but no effect.

So i install new version from pypi i hope that helps.

Old yt-dlp has to be removed or updated.

I also tried to compile video downloader but i have problem to get sdk.

https://pypi.org/project/yt-dlp/

Im using debian 11 bullseye with both video downloader snap and flatpak version.

To test which is working.

I had the same error but saw an update in POP_OS' Pop!_Shop and it started working again after the update. Worth a try updating, running version 0.10.13 now

I was running version 0.10.13 on Mint but the issue still persisted...

Issue resolved with me under Linux Mint Cinnamon 20.3 with the Flatpack version of Videodownloader v.0.10.3 (I think this is the latest version as of Februari, 25th.) To the development team: Thank you!
