License Clarification #86

Hey there! Just wanted a quick clarification on the license for this mod. When it says the assets are only allowed for further development of "this mod", does that mean I can fork the mod and re-release it stating that it's a fork or does it mean that it has to be this mod? As in uploaded to this repo and released by you?

I'd love to make a 1.20.1 port but I just wanted to make sure I was gonna follow the license.

That term mainly is in there because the audio files are coming from a commercial asset pack and I only got the permission to use them for this mod. I am actually not sure if forking and redistributing would break that contract. Generally I would be ok with a fork and re-release as long as you attribute the origins.

I had some other people show interest in working on a 1.20 port, and there is one 1.19.4 port in the pull requests. So I think there could be an official release coming soon too.

Ah that's understandable, I'd be happy to make a PR for the port instead of posting a fork if that makes you more comfortable about the asset permissions.
