The truth is: 0.75 is a pretty bad value and it's quite extreme actually; but how did we get here?
Well, it's simple! The hecker who created the mod (me) is quite sensitive to all sorts of sickness! That includes motion sickness, which is why when considering the Vanilla universal constant for smoothness (0.5)? I immediately discarded it due to a worry that it would make people (including myself) feel motion sick during normal gameplay;
However, after being poked about configuring the zoom to be smoother? I realized that 0.5 isn't that bad! and that in contrast? 0.75 actually feels way too fast and abrupt! It gets worse when you release the zoom button when you hit the maximum zoom of 50! So, how do we fix the situation now?
My plan is to trial out a new default, 0.6, which should be an alright balance between both values (0.5 isn't the holy grail either :p); the trial will happen in a modpack I plan to release soonish. If all goes well? We can change to the new default while keeping the old default behind a new "Classic Zoomer" preset
