HP ZBOOK G6 need new profile

Hello,

I would really need new profile for HP ZBOOK 17 G6. Laptop has two fans. NBFC was working OK until a few bios updates ago. now none profile works. It is either HP changed something or locked it. Is it still posible to control the fans on this laptop. Current bios is R92 Ver. 01.09.00, and for some reason rollback for bios is not working.

I'm not sure how the Zbook 17 G6 compares to the Zbook Fury 15 G7, but perhaps they are similar enough? Can you take a look at this issue and see if you get any ideas with respect to logging data?

I can assist if you'd like. Perhaps for starters, can you answer these questions:

• do your fans change speed/turn on at all? (I actually opened my back cover to confirm that running a cpu stress test did not even turn my fans on)
• you don't say what configuration you were previously using. Which was it?
• have you verified that secure boot is not enabled? The wiki mentions things don't work with it on (maybe bios update reset this?)
• if your fans change speeds at all when running something that stresses the CPU, can you run the below and then attach the .txt file to take a look? You'd run this:

ec-probe monitor -c -i 1 -r ec-monitor.txt

[Note: you probably need sudo if doing this on linux; you're on your own if windows as I haven't used nbfc on windows]

Then do something to make your cpu/fans kick on, wait ~30sec, then stop the stress test and wait another 30sec, then stop the process and the file ec-monitor.txt will be generated.
