Hex sticker with map of illinois centered and the R logo identifying the CU area location? Corn kernels filling in background?
Partial inspiration from ILcorn as to what an IL silhouette looks like with corn.
@daviddalpiaz thoughts?
I'm very pro corn themed logo. I wonder if we could incorporate something more UIUC specific instead of Illinois? Or maybe corn is that thing?
I missed the comment from @ResourcefulSquirrel. Kinda liking the idea of a corn kernel background! As long as it isn't too cluttered.
Ok, This is my 10-minute mock-up. I'd aim for a solid/filled state image, but didn't want to keep looking.
and, uh, the design stops at the hexagon border, but I couldn't figure out how to crop it easily in Preview.
I'll boot up Photoshop tomorrow and try my hand. Where did you get the IL outline? Did you use a shape file?
I just searched online for a transparent illinois state outline. I'd assume that a shape file would work, but that seemed a little much effort for me at this point in the day.
I've also seen several people use https://github.com/GuangchuangYu/hexSticker to design a hex logo (and share it)
Loving this idea. I'd just suggest we don't use an actual image of corn, but something more cartoonish and simpler like here: https://www.logolynx.com/images/logolynx/ab/ab29b2564e83abe96fdabdcb04fd309b.png
I kind of like that the corn displays a phyllotactic defect that mostly aligns with the borders of the state, but not enough to stand in the way if someone puts together another cool design. (corn image was from here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/nonlin/3818592181 )
We need to come up with a logo design.
