Using CraftGuide in BTW leads to free Clock/Compass info exploit #21

I'd very much enjoy using CraftGuide for one of my Better Than Wolves mod servers. The only thing that's stopping me from including it is that one can open up CraftGuide to see the clock and compass with actual data. Visible compass greatly reduces the impact of Hardcore Spawn.

Could you please make it to display static texture for these two items?

If I ever get around to making a new BTW-compatible version, fixing that will definitely be a priority. I think I still have the old MCP setup sitting around, and I might as well try to backport all of the UI improvements since.

On that note, I am wondering about whether it would be balanced to include the in-game ability to toggle whether it pauses SSP while open. Either side makes sense to me (as a replacement for pausing and alt-tabbing to the wiki; opening chat and alt-tabbing to the wiki to let things run in the background; or treating it as an in-game source (reflecting on in-character knowledge?), so it shouldn't be able to pause).

I take it as it won't be soon? In that case, I'll try to patch CraftGuide if found using my BTWTweak mod.

I don't think pausing or not pausing the game when opening the guide affects the balance at all.
