I think it's good. Doesn't hurt to have more information. I'll look into this when I have time.
It would be great to add such a section. However, a link to the page where students can apply for the student developer pack might be tricky, as one needs to upload a proof. I guess privacy officers will not agree with that unless it becomes very clear how this information is processed.
We should however be able to provide students with student developer packs through our enrollment in the campus program, but not sure how that would work (see benefits). I will seek contact with the github schools team.
Ah ok, so we can grant them access with their UU email address. Let's try to make that work.
@kequach I think everything else can nevertheless be added. Feel free to submit a PR.
I haven't really looked into what I would add under that dropdown but I don't think there's much else besides what @jelletreep mentioned with the campus program. I'm not even sure if you can be part of the UU organization here as a student since I only went through the process after I was already an employee. I'd wait for the response from the Github schools team and only add that information. Students also love free stuff so it's very good information to provide.
@kequach @J535D165, after a long wait we have received instructions from github on how to generate activation links for student developer packs (and provided dozens of students already with the pack). We are in the process of creating a self service portal for students to apply for the link in Topdesk, I expect this to be ready in February. For now I would suggest to add the following text:
🔑 I study at Utrecht University and want to use GitHub!
To apply for your Student Developer pack, send an email to info.rdm@uu.nl.
Do you have no experience with Git and GitHub? There are lots of resources on the internet to learn working with Git and GitHub. Check our best practices repository as a starting point.
Students are not eligible to become member of github.com/UtrechtUniversity, but can be invited as 'outside collaborators' to repositories to be able to contribute.
Any suggestions to improve?
I received some feedback that it can be useful to have information for students as well. Like the GitHub student developers pack and some online resources to get started with git.

What do you think @jelletreep and @kequach? @kequach would you like to implement?
