Hi @scalderhead - airspace bases like you have defined (and which are used elsewhere in the sector file) refer to the base of controlled airspace only, not SMAA constraints. We only have the SMAA lines available to display for reference to the chart at the moment.

Perhaps @cpawley could investigate defining a new format of label for SMAA altitude constraints, but for the time being, this doesn't exist quite yet :)

The SMAA data is already defined here and you should be able to turn this on under Display Settings > Sids (I think?!)

Trodaiche commented 4 years ago

@hsugden I noticed that they constraints were available under 'sids'. It would be benefitial to have them under another label. I added the base values as they were missing altogether from the ese files. Thanks

hazzas-99 commented 4 years ago

I wasn't quite suggesting that we ask the developer of EuroScope to change the label of 'Sids' - the SMAA drawings will likely stay there. I don't see that as too much of a problem?

But as per my reply above, in the original issue you've defined airspace bases as if they were controlled airspace (CAS) bases. The SMAA is not the same thing as CAS, and so we don't want to confuse things by putting them in the same place (and with the same name) as CAS bases elsewhere. As I said, I'll leave it up to @cpawley to decide if there might be a way to format freetext labels for the SMAA, perhaps in a file called SMAA Bases.txt. For now, however, we don't have that facility.

hazzas-99 commented 4 years ago

@AndyTWF could the generator be set up to recognise an SMAA Bases.txt file in the Airports folders? I think it would be best as freetext so one could turn on 'EGPE SMAA Bases' under Display Settings -> Freetext

@luke11brown @GeekPro101 @cbyworth @jackedwards815 - what are your thoughts on having SMAA bases also included in Freetext for the sector file? Or should people just be referring to charts for these?

GeekPro101 commented 3 years ago

Provided they don't clutter things excessively, and they can be clearly distinguished from CAS bases, I don't see any issues with having them in, if people want them.

jackedwards815 commented 3 years ago

I think the SMAA based should be in free text. Much easier to refer to.

Fixed via https://github.com/VATSIM-UK/UK-Sector-File/issues/3532 ?
