Constraining variables

For differential abundance, may be best to

  1. Restrict design factor to binary variables
  2. Have easily accessible derived vars which would allow the user to create binary vars from any other var. This would hugely increase the number of variables useable with this app, and add the ability to compare between groups of values. Neither are available on the live site.

Constraining collections

Not all collections really make sense in the differential abundance app? For example, do pathway abundances make sense? What about in beta div?

If we decide to do this, then we will need an issue in https://github.com/veupathdb/web-eda, as well. I gave it a high cost, but it could be less.

Update: the differential abundance app doesn't need constraints on input variables anymore. And i think @ryanrdoherty is in the process of adding the ability for us to constrain the collections from the backend.

So i'll leave this open a bit longer but work is in progress!
