Bugs hit in scatterplot when "smooth mean with raw" selected

in LLINEUP, i selected "Cluster as treated, dichotimized" = PBO LLIN. Then I tried to make the scatterplot indicated below. It displayed as expected, with some facets having no data. but when i selected "Smooth mean with raw" I got a 500 error.

This time, I did not filter the LLINEUP data. I tried to make a scatterplot of female non-anophiline count vs male non-anophiline count. "smooth mean with raw" option works. I then try to overlay "Cluster as treated, dichotimized". this works with raw, but not with smooth mean with raw:

adding the overlay shouldn't introduce nulls since there was no missing data for "Cluster as treated, dichotomized"

this is happening when trying to apply loess smoothing to a very small number of highly skewed data points for one of the strata. i can look into catching the error and passing i along to the client like we usually do for other errors of a similar type. but i admit in this case im a little concerned none of the strata will end up actually working for loess anyhow.
