Bug in "find a variable" tree search for DIY studies #698

there is a bug with the "find a variable" tree search when using uncurated / non-human readable variable names, as is typical with DIY user studies.

without using "find a variable"

if I search for "crt" using "find a variable I get no hits:

can we fix this so that "crt" does NOT have to be a separate word to be found?

A good example of this would be using PRISM Resistance - key genes - WIDE - RAW (ask danica to share with you)
