When I uncheck one of the values for the donut marker variable (in the marker config panel), it removes one color from the legend (so it is not changing what values are contributing to "all other values"). this is OK, though perhaps warrants some UX discussion.
the issue is that the legend colors assigned to each value need to be consistent and they are changing
