Order Public Example Analyses #740

The live mbio site has the following public analyses:

The first two were created by a user. It's really great that users are creating public analyses, but kinda odd to see their analyses show up first in this list on the home page.

Can we order the public analyses so that the veupathdb ones show first? Or maybe better, can we limit those analyses shown on the homepage to only those created by the veupath team?

@danicahelb @nkittur-uga may have thoughts?

@asizemore I agree that user analyses should not be prominent on the homepage, especially since they are not vetted and could be garbage for all we know. I like both your ideas: ordering the analyses to show the staff ones first, or limiting homepage analyses to staff ones.

If you look on the public analyses page (https://microbiomedb.org/mbio/app/workspace/analyses/public) there is a toggle button (top right) to sort examples to top. (The verbiage isn't great, I think the word examples is too vague here, but it essentially sorts staff analyses to the top of the list). Maybe that sorting could be carried over to the homepage?

Thanks @nkittur-uga ! I hadn't seen that toggle, that's really helpful. Seems like we could use the same logic to just remove any non-examples from the homepage list.

At least for the short term, i've learned the list on the homepage is ordered by most recently updated analysis! So i'm going through now and updating our veupathdb mbio public analyses so that they'll be right there at the front :)

Apologies. I recently updated how the homepage works and it will now only show analyses created by the veupathdb user. We can add more users, at will. Clinepi has multiple users. I'll link the PR with the changes.
