the idea is to introduce a boxplot to the beta div app w the dissimilarity scores on the yaxis. this means this viz would show different data to the dimensional reduction scatter in the same app, not just a different presentation of the same data. its worth considering how wed make this clear to users, or potentially breaking this into a separate app even.
