General: homepage overhaul including removal of greyed out study cards #624

Discussed in 9/13/2021 EDA WG meeting

The homepage should be redesigned. The utility of the sections of the landing page below the study cards is unclear. Likely will be most useful for naive users who don’t even understand what the databases are about.

Combining the example searches & example visualizations is fine for phase 1. For later phases, perhaps videos would be more useful? But videos are also very difficult to keep up to date when the UI changes.

Old mockups around site search may be useful for the homepage redesign

We also want to get rid of greyed out study cards on the live site. When we get rid of the greyed out cards, we will also remove the "isSecret" property from the presenter.

Note...We intend to do a more thorough homepage redesign at some point that de-prioritizes the card view, which is getting increasingly difficult to navigate given the large amount of released studies and isn't as useful now that site search does not filter the cards.

Can i close this ticket? As far as i know we're not planning on working on this for a while
