miadir in new package branch shouldn't have static methods #44

Hi Katherine -

In testing the new object code, I found that a lot of the existing code will not work if miadir's methods are mostly static.

Could you pull the methods into the miadir.m file please?

Sorry I didn't respond earlier. I was hoping to make more progress.

I changed the methods in miadir.m file. It should be working now!
