Not everybody calls everything the same thing.

Grouping of labs. Grouping of one labs and panel is different than other site's labs and panel. Names are different even in the LOINC codes. Is there some way to link the NLT tests. Map their code so that when it comes in, our system knows that we need to Mike: use site ID for each site and create a table/database for each site.

Tony Moran: when we receive results from individually-ordered tests, we may be missing one or two that would complete the panel of tests that is needed.

1) when ordering the test, being able to select the right one at the current lab 2) when it comes back, being able to map it to the host code (or lab code)

Mike: build a cross-reference table that links up codes automatically with ability to see code at remote site and code at local site.

Kevin: and when the codes change, who will update that?

Tony: File 60 is where I build tests. Would need an automatic notification to [system?] when a code is updated.

Mike: system could generate an XML file and send it to the spoke site to automatically update the codes

Tony: yes, much more efficient -- removing manual entry

Mike: Yes, we can do it. We need to do some architectural planning and figure out which prototype version we include this in.

Tony: let's make sure the initial prototype system works and then get to this.

Per meeting with Allison on 1/12, this is a risk to the national roll-out. Vikki to add to risk register.

02/11/2016 -- Allison confirmed that this is out of scope. It should be documented as a risk to national roll-out (for a follow-on project).

Summary:

VikkiM commented 8 years ago

04/18/2016: We need to revisit this requirement for panels that the customer had previously labeled out of scope.

After email dialog with the Durham/Salisbury/Fayetteville clinicians last week regarding which tests they are expecting to see, out of the 8 lab tests frequently ordered, 5 are panels. Out of the 20 lab tests less frequently ordered, 4 are panels.

Re: Microbiology lab tests -- Sue Benware indicated that she does not routinely order Microbiology lab tests. Per Allison regarding microbiology:_ This kind of touches on my question the other day about so far things not seemingly limited to transplants. We want to develop as broad of system as possible for tests and radiology, given that the next steps to this effort will be for a broader _construct than transplants. Just something to keep in mind.
