pseudonymizing of patient data #40

One thing that's always in the back of my head are the rules regarding the usage of patient data for testing purposes.

Is this allowed? does the data have to be pseudonymized or anonymized? Not sure if this is something for the field standard, but it is something that is on my mind as a bioinformatician.

annoying thing here is that every privacy officer puts his own ideas on this.... so could be different in each center :(
