Import base cloud crashes #31

Hello

I've installed 3D forest on a Virtual Machine with over 128 GB of RAM The programme seems to run properly, nevertheless there are several crashes happening during the work in process, which make the workflow almost impossible to manage.

For example:

Althought I found this bugs challenging , I do believe this software is an amazing tool! I hope I'll be able to find a solution to these issues.

Hi, you are right, that complete processing without crash can be challenging and cannot be saved - it has to be done at once. not sure why is happening the first point - what format of data you have? Second step seem easy - las was imported, but for tree segmentation you will need more dense cloud that result from voxel terrain segmentation - try to use octree terrain segmentation and then use automatic tree segmentation on result of it - it should have some results. txt files serve only for export and processing in another software - excel, R, etc. Jan

  • When I try to import directlly a basecloud, the window disappears and the entire software crashes
  • After I've imported las format cloud point , and did the voxel terrain segmentation , the automatic tree segmentation crashes all of a sudden
  • the exported .txt file formats can't be loaded back to the workspace

Althought I found this bugs challenging , I do believe this software is an amazing tool! I hope I'll be able to find a solution to these issues.

Hey Jan! First of all thank you very much for your fast reply! :-)

the data that I'm interested in are available at this link [https://data.mendeley.com/datasets/k6nmr6ytpf/1] they are in las format. I wish to study the trees from this area and being able to determine height and other parameters that can show up in the attribute table.
Whenever I import them it will work out 7 times out of 10 , before the software crashes ...
