please consider using Git instead of Subversion #419

The question of using Git instead of SVN has already been discussed on the 
mailing list with no final conclusion.

I want to package h2 for Debian and it'd be a nice thing if I could just clone 
your Git repo to Debian's git server and add the packaging in a separate branch.

If you'd like to switch, I'd be happy to do the conversion for you. You might 
want to complete the authors list to have nice looking author fields after the 
conversion:

I don't understand the exact use case, what is the problem with the current 
mechanism? I have nothing against using git (I use it at work) but unless 
really needed I don't want to switch, as it would cause quite a lot of 
additional work.

Closing as won't fix for now.

Using git and especially GitHub might stimulate additional developer activity 
although this is a long-term investment.  git also makes feature branches 
easier to deal with, e.g., work on MVStore.
