I've used HTML here with full_description.txt, compressed to a single line. That's what works best for F-Droid repos. Should you want to use a different format, the second link above gives you some examples. E.g. what I call "Markdown Lite" there would work fine with F-Droid repos and even PlayStore – but some formatting would get lost (except with my repo, where the updater converts it accordingly).
