What exactly have been optimized or refactored? It's all the same code, just written in a different manner.

What do you want to change? I can try rewriting the functions to make them run faster, but I don't know why you are closing the pull request after the first post :/

These are changes for the sake of change. The proposed code doesn't have any optimizations, and what's more important, is less readable. I won't comment on this matter any further.
