What is the state BTAS, seeing it being used by several other projects, shouldn't there be some initial release be tagged that can be used as a semi-stable point for a while? Doesn't need to be a 1.0, but only having git makes it difficult for distributions to package it.

There are two tags, 1.0.0-alpha and emergency.
