You could check for updates pretty easily by pinging https://github.com/ValerioLyndon/MyAnimeList-Tools/releases/latest and checking the redirected URL against the script version.

This would be nice but shouldn't be in-your-face annoying if done.

I don't think this is really that important. Seems like one more web request for not much benefit. If something breaks for a user they will come to the thread and find the new version, no need to bug them, surely?
