same here.
Dota2 crashed randomly on macOS with Vulkan video set.
Sometimes during the game, sometimes crashed immediately after the game start.
rMBP 15' 2017
macOS 10.13.5 (17F77) AMD Radeon Pro 560
Same, but mostly happens about 5-15 minutes into game. Was able to watch almost a full match of TnC vs EG in-client without crash. System information: https://gist.github.com/jorunfa/c7c45d9e9f3b6e1cb2755b10c86f41aa
Same for me:
Hackintosh: macOS 10.13.4 BUILD 17E199
GTX 960: WebDriver 387.10.10.10.30.106
I checked in the console and i found this:
GeForce GTX 960 [3]: transaction ID (95733) generated error (0xe00002bc). dirtyBits=0x1, options=0x1
+- IOAudioEngine[<private>]::removeUserClient(<private>) returns 0x0
Same here, played 2 games with Vulkan on to find it crashing after 10 - 15 minutes. System information: https://gist.github.com/Silox/d736a8eb84ceded69e87d262c4899190
Is there some log I can provide that could help to debug this problem?
Same here. Macbook pro early 2015 macOS 10.13.3 Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 МБ
Same here.
System Info: MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) MacOS: 10.13.5 Processor: 3.1 GHz Intel Core i7 Graphics: Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB
Also having this problem, game crashes randomly, but performance is much better though (compared to OpenGL on iMac). Also sometimes random textures wouldn't load creating artifacts on the screen.
Having the same problem, which is a shame because the performance is noticeably better with vulkan:
MacOS version: 10.13.5 (17F77) MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2048 MB Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB
Thanks for all the reports. We're working on it but having a very difficult time reproducing the crash and the minidumps have so far not yielded much helpful. If you run with -conlogfile and hit a crash it may be helpful to post console.log and the minidump from /tmp/dumps. However, I'm pretty sure we have plenty of the minidumps and are still having a hard time isolating the problem.
I upadte my imac macos sierra to macos high sierra yesterday. I cant play at all with opengl, i have 9 fps and i had no problem with sierra before. Then I used vulkan and fps seems fine, but dota 2 keeps crashing after dota 2 update yesterday. I dont know why i have 9 fps in fights and a lot of micro lag with opengl engine with high sierra.
I think we have a solid lead, will update as soon as we have a fix ready to test. Also, I believe this is a duplicate of #246
I posted in both - same/duplicate for me, at least.
I believe we have a fix for this issue. It should be in the next Dota update, but in the meantime you can unzip the attached libMoltenVK.dylib to ~/Library/Application\ Support/Steam/steamapps/common/dota\ 2\ beta/game/bin/osx64/
libMoltenVK.dylib.zip
@dddavo That looks like a different issue than the crash, please open a new issue with your system information. My guess with that is that you have a very small amount of GPU memory? It looks like a problem that happens when r_texture_pool_size is very small due to low GPU memory. You can try adding -newtexturestreaming to your command-line option. Not related to this issue though.
I have this problem just now with vulkan. But i will try thanks!

Just tested with the new dylib and was able to watch/play without a crash for around 45 mins (it would crash easily within 10-15 minutes before).
New libMoltenVK.dylib
seems to have solved crash problem for me too, i.e. this and #246. Great work 🎉
The new libMoltenVK.dylib that fixes the crash shipped with the latest Dota update. I'm going to close out this bug.
Just had this crash 3 times in a row and restarted the computer every time. Up to an hour ban now. Attaching console log. Untitled.pdf

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
Updated to latest Dota 2 Version, Including support for Vulkan, then Apple told me I couldnt run the game until I updated my OS. Did that and then switched support in the video section. Played a game and it shut down the application about 10 times during at random points.
