DotA2 freezes when there are using a lot of abilities on the screen #1203

HI. I have this issue. So every game dota freezes when many heroes use their abilities. Thats rly annoying, i die in game many times coz of it. After it freezes i need to use combo cmd+alt+esc. it only one way to close the game. Then i launch it again, rc to the game. but it can freeze again during fights. Sometimes it freezes suddenly, when i move my camera sharp. What can i do?

Do you have a match ID of any case where this has happened? If so does it happen again when you watch the replay at the same point? If it does happen every time and you have that match ID and time we can try it here. Otherwise it's not clear what's happening nor how to fix it.

When i watch replays at this moments^ it doesnt freeze

What we really need is a match where the problem happens again when watching the match as that would give us a clear idea of the source of the problem. If the hang doesn't happen for you when watching the exact same point in the match that means the problem isn't directly related to whatever was happening in the match at that point and it's still unknown what's happening for you. I'll check the replays to see if there's anything that shows up for me.

I watched all replays where was the probleme with freezing, but while i was watching there were not any freezes

Maybe there's some other process running on your computer while gaming which generally isn't a problem for your PC to handle, but when Dota starts demanding more resources your PC struggles to handle everything. Stuff like Discord/Skype, a web browser or anything else running on your background might be cause for this issue.

Just trying to give ideas.

@Cabanur i've been thinking about it. But 80% of time i play only dota, w/o using any other programs. So it freezed even when i launched only dota. Although there is steam launched on mac

I haven't been able to find anything unusual happening in the replays so it's still a mystery as to what is going wrong for you. We'll keep looking.

well I got Linux and the default kernel seems to work fine (so I remember) but upgrading kernel disables the wifi I am using so I need to use external ppa to upgrade the driver so I can use newer kernels. It works mostly just ok, but with dota I get occasinal drops and they tend to happen when multiple heroes fight. If you are using linux and wifi it might be your kernel driver that is causing them.
